If you've found your way here, welcome! I'm Gigi Robinson, founder of Hosts of Influence®, creator, educator, speaker, author, and dog mom. This newsletter AND vodcast is called Creator Etiquette™, and it exists because the creator economy needs more professional development for creators.
This newsletter will live alongside the YouTube channel and the podcast for those who prefer reading over watching, and for the weeks when a video can't capture everything I want to say. If you’d rather listen in, make sure to follow along on YouTube and Spotify!
The Breaking Point
Here's the part most people don't talk about.
By 2023, from the outside, everything looked right. I had a dream management company. Revenue was coming in. My team had grown to nine people.
But behind the scenes, I was waiting on five figures from a brand deal that wouldn't pay out until final approval, which could take months. I had payroll. I had overhead. And I was sitting on money I had technically earned but couldn't touch.
That's when I hit a wall.
Replace your first 4 hires with AI. Free workshop on April 8th.
Most early-stage founders can't afford their first four hires. Sales, marketing, dev, and support alone can run hundreds of thousands in salaries.
On April 8th, AI thought leader Heather Murray shows pre-seed and seed founders how to build all four functions using AI tools. Live, with demos, for free.

Not because I ran out of ideas. Not because I lost love for creating. But because I realized I had built something that looked like a business on the outside but functioned like a hustle on the inside. I was producing content for an audience, but I wasn't building infrastructure. I wasn't treating my finances with the same seriousness I was treating my content calendar.
Financial literacy and strategy are just as important as creating content. If you don't treat your platform like a business, burnout isn't a possibility, it's a guarantee. I've been there more than once. So I stepped away from YouTube, and eventually podcasting too. Because I needed to fix the foundation before I could keep building on top of it.
There are no rules that say you can't burn everything to the ground before building a brand new base.

One thing I didn't understand early on was how much the back end of your business matters. Not just content — but contracts, invoices, receipts, and all the documents that prove you're actually running something real.
This year, instead of digging through emails and random folders, I started using Acrobat's tax season PDF Space inside Adobe Acrobat Studio. I pulled everything in — invoices, contracts, expense receipts, and notes — into one place so I could actually see what was going on.
From there, I use Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant to ask better questions, like what I'm missing, how things are categorized, and what changed year-over-year. It helps me go from "overwhelmed" to "okay, I actually understand my business."
And honestly, this is a big part of Creator Etiquette™. Being organized, prepared, and easy to work with behind the scenes matters just as much as the content you post.
What I Was Actually Building
Those four years weren't empty. I was building.
My second business: Hosts of Influence® and its umbrella brand Its Gigi
Operational systems that actually worked
Creator Etiquette™ frameworks that had been developing in my mind for years
The long-term infrastructure for something meant to last
It took nearly a year before Hosts of Influence® had its first paying client. Two years of quiet, unglamorous, foundational work.
Which is exactly why I believe so deeply that sustainable success doesn't happen overnight, especially when you're building something meant to last. The boring years are often the most important ones. I just didn't know that while I was living through them.
What Is Hosts of Influence®?
Hosts of Influence® is my creator management and education company. It's where I work with creators to build businesses, not just followings. Strategy, systems, brand partnerships, licensing, speaking, the full picture.
Creator Etiquette™ is the educational arm of that vision. Every issue, you'll get the real talk, the frameworks, and the creator economy conversations I wish someone had given me earlier.
We're not building for attention. We're building for ownership.
So Why Am I Back?
Because the foundation is ready.
I'm coming back to YouTube as Professor Robinson because the creator economy needs more transparency. More honest conversations. More people willing to say this is actually how it works instead of selling the highlight reel.
You deserve to understand how to build something that lasts. Because influence without infrastructure collapses. I watched it nearly happen to me. I don't want it to happen to you.
If you're here early, I'm so glad you're in the room.
Life Updates (Where Things Stand Now)
Since we last connected:
I moved out of NYC… to New Jersey! Surprise, I love it???
I submitted query letters for my next book proposal
In January alone, I surpassed half of my entire 2025 revenue
I'm speaking at Creator Con, Cohely Conference, Cannes Lions, USC, and more this year
A lot happened while I was quiet. That was kind of the point.
